So I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m going to use this blog. As you know, if you’ve been a loyal follower of mine, this platform used to be for my everyday writing, thoughts, photography—just all the things that makes me, all wrapped up in this blog. Through the years I’ve obviously moved away a bit, I wouldn’t say that I’ve lost the passion for writing here, cause I still think it’s fun—but it just has gotten harder and harder. Like, for instant, what am I supposed to write here after all reviews, tips & tricks, pictures? Is that ALL that’s gonna be here? My every day routine is just boring atm, but then again; it was non existing when I used to write the most? lol. Ugh, it’s so hard getting back here! Like, I do this brainstorming every night that NOW is the time to just get BACK IN THERE, but blaaaah whenever I start, it just feels pathetic.
Let’s just see where all this goes. As for right now, I’m getting late for work and I just realized my eyeliner is a bit uneven. So see ya later!
Hi girlies! Not long ago I asked you guys on instagram for hair remedies ♥ I use to have the best hair in the world but lately it’s been taking all the my falls I’ve been through the years. From uni stress to insomnia ugh. So a lot of you messaged me telling me thousands of totke and good hairmasks to get the shine back on with, but obviously I couldn’t possibly try everything lol. So after thinking for some time I went with the one I got recommended the most—mixed with all natural ingredients there is to find on the market! I have only been using this for 2-3 weeks—so I can’t say this is the one, but it has most definitely helped my frizzy hair a lot! I always use this before taking my weekly shower (LOL)—so twice a week, and it leaves my hair soooo soft and with zero knots!
Just a sidenote though; only playing with hairmasks won’t do it. You have to eat right, drink a lot of water and sleep right as well. All combined and you’re back to normal! None of the things I mentioned here works without the other. They’re like partners in crime.
Anyway! Here are the ingredients;
1 egg—Here we’re only using the egg yolk, not the whole thing. Some girls messaged me asking how to get rid of the smell it leaves in the hair. I soap my hair twice and then shampoo it. Also the smell mainly appears when you put a whole egg in your hair. It’s only the egg yolk that supposed to be mixed with the rest. Not only will your hair smell, but it’s very difficult to get it out of your hair as well. 1 tablespoon yoghurt— I use natural yoghurt you get from your local supermarket. The more yoghurt you use, the runnier it will be, so maybe even less than one tablespoon? 1 drop of honey—Also just normal honey. It comes in a tiny bottle I just squeeze a bit and there’s one drop. 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil—I use the Vatika one! It’s theee best! I like to add more oil into the whole thing cause it is what’s best for your hair. You take how much your hair needs obviously. I don’t have the thickest hair in the world anymore, but there’s still a lot of it. So all ingredients need to be according to your hair.
Mix everything in a bowl and voila! Don’t wait too long with the egg though. I did and it was sooo hard to mix it afterwards—it left me with tiny lumps that I couldn’t crush so I had to throw everything out and make another hairmask lol. Also you’re supposed to mainly concentrate on the roots and then take the leftovers in the rest of the hair. I will be back after 1 year to tell you the difference, but until then you can join the wagon and tell me how it’s going for you?
Not long ago I watched Udta Punjab. This movie had been on my “watch-list” for quite some time but I never seemed to get my shit together enough for me to download it. Anyway, finally it happened and it was with mixed feelings I watched the first intermission. The movie is based on drug abuse by the youth population in the Indian state of Punjab and deals with what really happens behind the big black curtain. We get to follow four main characters that somehow cross each others path, and end up helping one another out of the misery they’re in.
What I personally liked about the movie was that it’s not one of those typical fairy-tale movie with a “happily ever after”. Udta Punjab deals with a lot of serious issues and force you to think about the ugly reality of drug abuse. How our youth is practically throwing their lives away because of bad lifestyle, wrong company and/or bad influence. At the same time it shows us four different sides of the story—and THAT is not common in Bollywood lol.
Along with that, the movie is packed with strong characters—such as Shahid Kapoor. Shahid’s acting is just on another level—he really is one of those people that leave their persona at home to jump into their character and live it! And to see Diljit Dosanjh act so WELL! This guy has been my favorite for years and the movie just made me fall for him even more haha!
The soundtrack is beautifully stitched together with very talented voices, but leaves me a bit disappointed. I can’t seem to grasp what it really is, but something’s missing…
The movie has no end if you ask me. It just blacks out in the middle of everything and shows the harsh reality of bad decisions—and that is totally ok since it leaves you with a strange feeling of wanting to see more but not wanting to know the consequences.. If you get what I mean? I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars! I like when Bollywood step out of their comfort zone and that is what was done with Udta Punjab. More movies like this thanks!
The most awaited post of all time—a follow up on my afghan photoshoot regarding the details ♥ This recreation of the South Asian Ranis Series by Aankita.b was on my list for weeks before I finally decided to go all in. The best part is before the actual shoot, where you’re out looking for different detail props! It’s so fun to research a new culture/country and see what they’re usually up to on a daily basis. I can tell you that I had major problems picking up a dress I liked as well, cause the most important part is how you carry it. I wasn’t sure I would be able to pull it off but now I think it went better than expected. Afghan dresses are full of mirror work and colorful embroidery, something that’s not really “in” when you’re wearing pakistani shalwar kameez. I was initially out looking for a black frock but ended up with a cyan one cause I had a budget to hold.
The dress is by the seller Desertdressofficial on Ebay. To be noted now; a lot of you guys have misconceptions regarding ebay overall. There’s obviously second hand stuff and then there’s proper shops similar to Etsy ones, that sells new items with tags and all. Desertdressofficial is one of the latter one which is located in Cardiff, United Kingdom. I actually bought a shiny blue dress but received the wrong item, but since the whole procedure of returning and getting the correct dress would extend the whole shoot, I just went with the one I received. Not that bad either tbh.
The dress is, as I said, in a dark cyan color, with huge multi colored mirror work embroidery that follows the actual “flow” of the skirt. It has small white pearls following the end of the sleeves with tiny mirrors in goldish color in between the embroidery. The dress is huuuuge! It came in one-size, so I was pretty much aware of the fact it wouldn’t be a perfect fit anyway. Now the best part is the belt! This is what made it “customised” for me. The sleeves were huge and even though they’re charming irl, they looked a bit weird in pictures, so I had to put a safety pin in order to keep them in normal size lol. Here is the link for the shiny blue one I actually ordered. Since I received the wrong item, I don’t have the correct link for the dress I’m wearing in the pictures, but if you look around in the shop, you’ll find lots of other colors and designs! Good luck!
Yeeeih! I analyzed the original picture by Ankita as well, but had a strong memory of fellow afghan friends and how they looked attending weddings and all. I found some really nice kuchi chokers which were actually pretty decent but wow-expensive. Since this is a budget thing for me, I can’t go around purchasing 50-dollar chokers which I most probably never will be wearing again lol. So I kept it a bit mediocre and thought I would have to pull it off somehow. This statement necklace in multi color came with a pair of earrings as well! The material has no weight, like the typical pakistani fancy jhumki that will tear your ears apart, but is actually very light-weighted. Comes with a black ribbon you “tighten” at the back according to your own liking, instead of the typical hook. Here is the direct link!
The heavy tribal matha patti is another thing that really screams afghan history through decades! I picked up one with slightly multi colored stones, so it gave an “afghan” feeling to it. The three different sides comes with hooks, so I pretty much just put them through my hair and voila! What a lovely piece! Here is the direct link.
Then we have the handpieces, which were actually just an add-on from my side. I thought it would be fun with extra details and purchased low-quality hand-slaves that were in a very damaged condition upon arrival. They never really stayed on my hand and the little mirror had a very bad finish to it. The rings were bent in a really weird way so they never came on properly as well. Here is the direct link.
Now to the beautiful double layered tribal pehzebz! These are actually purchased last year both of them so I don’t have any active link. They matched the whole afghan look, so it was a win win situation for me lol. But it’s not that hard to find new ones on ebay. You just search tribal anklets and 68493922 different ones will pop up.
I’m not really a makeup-artist but thought I could mention the lashes and lipstick color anyway! The liquid lipstick is by Anastasia in Crush, and the lashes are by Ritz called Ritzie! These are soooo gorgeous and perfect for little heavier looks! The contacts are Hidrocor Ocre from Solotica which I reviewed here as well. I had plans to curl my hair but couldn’t find the curling iron so this is just my normal newly-washed hair lol.
I hope you guys liked the detailed post! I will be recreating 2-3 more looks in this series very soon and a follow-up detail post will be posted after those as well. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to DM me or whatever, I’ll try to reply as quick as I can! If you do decide to recreate the original look, don’t forget to tag me so I can see it as well! Would be so fun to see the different interpretations!
Hi guys! How are you? I had a pretty early morning this Friday so I was home already at 11am. Felt like I had the whole day to myself, so I went outside and spray-painted a stool from IKEA. This DIY-project has been on my to-do-list for ageeees, but I just now got the chance to do it. Can’t wait to show you guys the end result! I will be posting a mini tutorial on here, as promised about on instagram. It’s basically a stool that we accidentally picked up from IKEA and was to no use… So I bought a square blush pink fur from eBay and thought it would be a great accessory in my room. Anyway! As for right now I just washed my face after good 40 minutes of Mask Of Magnaminty from Lush. You’re supposed to sit with it for 10 minutes but I always get so lazy lol. I will be writing more about skincare very soon!
Until that we can just look at these beautiful faux flowers from our local dollarstore here in Sweden. They were only 5 kr each so I made my sister buy me a bouquet to fit in this pretty vase!
Back again with the contacts lool! As you remember, my last purchase from the brand Solotica was the Hidrocor Ice. I’ve written a detailed blogpost about that which you can find HERE. Those contacts were not really for daily use. More for a party look, Eid or maybe a wedding? Yes. For a daily use I was out looking for something that was more natural. So I came across this color, from the same brand, called Hidrocor Ocre! Tooooo die for! The contact lens is in an orange/hazel color, which actually scared me a little. I opened the tiny bottles and was like whaaaaat? Lol. Turns out it looks SO NATURAL on my dark brown pakistani eyes! Absolutely love how pigmented they are and most importantly; the comfort level! I have been wearing these for almost a week now, and I basically use them as my real eyes. No redness (nazar na laghe!!!) and it barely feels like I’m wearing anything! Obviously, if you already have dry eyes, it’s a good idea to get eyedrops as well, but I have not had any problem with any dryness so far and hopefully won’t either.
First thing’s first; I ordered these and my Ice ones from the same website—Visionmarketplace. It’s trustworthy, got fast shipping and it has Paypal!! That’s the most important thing! Very important that it’s secure and that you can get your money back if anything happens to the package upon arrival. So thumbs up for that! These contacts are quite pricy yes, but so worth it. You’ve heard about the daily and monthly ones, but yearly? No? Well, these can be used for a WHOLE DAMN YEAR!!!
If you don’t already know; I use transparent prescription contact lenses since 8′th grade cause of my weak eyesight, so putting these in were never a problem. Just feels normal? Apart from you being extra cautious of course, they’re expensive so show a little softness while picking them up from the bottles. I ordered these in the same prescription I have in my transparent ones; 2.50. So yes, you can choose the power from the drop down menu on their site. I think the shipping time depends on whether you decide to buy prescription ones or not, cause it obviously takes time to get them made for you.
Hi beautiful people! Its 2018 and I have decided to get back on this platform for good. Sometimes I catch myself missing this part of myself—I mean, it’s been my safe place for almost 7 years now and it would be such a shame to let that go. I have deleted all my old blogposts so for everyone messaging me on instagram—that is why you’re unable to click “previous”. It’s not worth it, my past lol. So along with my high school friends and years, the memories, songs and pretty much every tiny detail about my being, disappeared as well. I’m cleaning my head for good and starting a new life alhumdullilah, and I cannot wait to share that with you guys!
Recently I put up a story on my instagram and asked you guys for blog posts ideas. It was mostly to hear your part, since I’m taking a new turn with Thursdaygal. I seriously cannot wait to dig in and start writing here again. To show you all my DIY projects, my Eid dresses, what I think & what not and WHY. Oh, I’m so excited! Lots of love from Sweden ♥
